From the dawn of the XXI Century, the 221 duras wine makers have used their skill and knoweldge across the 2200 hectares witch hold the "Apellation d'Origine Controlée" accreditation. ( AOC Cotes de Duras)

The duras region was actually one of the first area in france to obtain the AOC accrediatation. It was obtained in 1937.

The wine growers are defined by the secrets of their land, and don't know anything less than flourishing success. In 10 years the surface area has increased by 1/3 rd ,  and the commercial volume produced has not ceasead grow, exceading 100 000 hectolitres of wine in the year 2000.
